Our Training

Oxford Private Care understands the importance of training and developing its employees to ensure that we are equipped to provide the highest level of care for our clients.

Staff Training

Training course

We have a dedicated team who oversees our training programme.  This includes working with a full time NVQ assessor who supports our carers in completing NVQ Levels 2 and 3 in Care or equivalent diploma.  We have a formal induction and shadowing programme for all new employees followed by regular monitoring and supervision.

Every carer receives specific training in the following areas:

  • Manual handling for safe transfers and use of lifting equipment
  • Food hygiene for preparation of food and meals
  • Medication control
  • Infection control
  • First aid awareness (dealing with an emergency)
  • Alert to abuse.

Specialist training in many other areas of care is also provided eg. palliative and dementia.

We  have access to qualified nurses who provide practical training to all our carers.

We can meet family and individual’s training needs for assisting with the care provided for your loved ones. We can provide a tailor-made training package to suit your needs.

Please contact Nigel Collins on 01865 861944 to discuss any training requirements you may have.
